Digital welcome book

The digital welcome book behind one permanent printed QR code.

Your guests scan the code on the wall and see the Wi-Fi, the house rules, arrival and departure and your recommendations — no app, no login, in their own language.

What a digital welcome book is

A digital welcome book is the guest information for your property, opened on the guest’s own phone instead of read from a binder on the kitchen table. The content is what you already explain on arrival: Wi-Fi, getting in, house rules, checking out, how to reach you, where to eat. The difference is that a correction is an edit, not a reprint.

With QRiousStay, one permanently printed QR code leads to that welcome book. The code points at the accommodation itself, not at a snapshot of its content — a new Wi-Fi password, a changed check-out time or an extra language is live at the next scan, and the sign on the wall is never touched.

What goes in it

A welcome book is not read; it is searched, by someone holding a bag and looking for exactly one fact. So every item is its own card rather than a paragraph in a long page.

  • Wi-Fi

Network name and password, exactly as they appear on the router.

  • Arrival and keys

Parking, the entrance, the key safe and its code — as a sequence, not prose.

  • House rules

Quiet hours, smoking, pets, visitors. Short, and stated as fact.

  • Check-out

The time, linen, the dishwasher, bins, heating, where the key goes.

  • Contact

How to reach you — and when a reply is realistic.

  • Recommendations

Six good places instead of thirty, each with one sentence on why.

Which facts belong on the first screen and which one level down is worked through in the guest guide checklist and template and the holiday let welcome pack guide.

For international guests

Guests choose their language themselves, on the phone. QRiousStay keeps a catalogue of 129 translation languages; how many you offer at once depends on the plan — three on Basic, six on Premium. Your own source language never counts against that and is always there.

That pays off wherever a misunderstanding costs something: the house rules, the check-out time, anything with a safety consequence. How to write for it is in the multilingual guest guide.

The QR code and the sign

Every accommodation has its own permanent QR code and a readable web address. You print the code yourself: six layouts in the QR Print Designer, A5 at 300 dpi as PDF or PNG, in your accent colour — Classic, Warm, Midnight, Bold, Tabletop, Window.

The welcome book itself appears in one of five themes: Standard, Canvas, Atlas, Boutique Editorial, Warm Retreat. The choice changes the look, never the content and never the address behind the code. The QRiousStay line stays on the guide and on the printed sign, on every plan.

What QRiousStay is not

QRiousStay is a welcome book, not management software. There are no prices, no occupancy, no calendar, no bookings and no guest records — the welcome book opens without an account and does not know who is standing in front of it. If you need a channel manager or a PMS you need a different product; this page describes the layer underneath, the one your guests actually hold in their hand.

More practical help is under Guides, the plans and their language limits under Pricing. Questions go through Contact.

Questions we get asked.

Do guests need an app to open a digital welcome book?

No. Guests scan the QR code with the camera already on their phone and the welcome book opens in the browser — no download, no account, no login.

Does the printed QR code still work after I change the welcome book?

Yes, always. The code points at the accommodation itself, not at a snapshot. A new Wi-Fi password or a changed check-out time is live at the next scan without reprinting the sign.
